John Holman,MD

Dr. John Holman’s greatest professional joy is helping people improve their own health and wellness by empowering them to change potentially harmful behaviors. As a provider in the Carson City facility, he works to support the team approach to preventive care and early disease detection and management. Dr. Holman sees all ages from birth to death and performs minor office procedures such as skin lesion removal, cryotherapy and joint injections. Dr. Holman has a basic level understanding of Spanish but does use a translator to be sure communications are understood.

Dr. Holman retired from the US Navy after 24 years of active duty where he worked to keep our people in the Armed Forces healthy in all aspects of their lives. Dr. Holman has strong ties to northern Nevada. He is a graduate of the University of Nevada-Reno, the University of Nevada School of Medicine and earned his Master of Public Health from the University of Washington. Dr. Holman completed his family medicine residency at the Naval Hospital, Camp Pendleton, California. Dr. Holman serves his community as the County Health Officer for Douglas County Nevada. He enjoys his family, especially the grandchildren, along with hiking, camping, and fishing.
