Katie Dolan, MD
Dr. Katie Dolan is a Nevada native and graduate of Wooster High School. She earned her undergraduate degree in Biochemistry from the University of California, Davis, before returning to Reno to complete her medical degree at the University of Nevada, Reno School of Medicine. She went on to complete her Family Medicine residency at Mercy Medical Center in Redding, California, through the University of California, Davis.
Board-certified in Family Medicine, Dr. Dolan has been practicing in the Reno area since 1998. She is passionate about caring for multiple generations of families and enjoys the variety that family medicine provides—from preventive visits and women’s health to the management of chronic conditions and acute care needs.
Philosophy of Care
Dr. Dolan values the relationships she builds with her patients and is committed to delivering thoughtful, compassionate, and comprehensive care. She believes in taking time to listen, educate, and empower patients in their health decisions, offering personalized guidance at every stage of life.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Dolan enjoys cheering for the San Francisco 49ers, traveling, and spending time with her three children—who she is always proud to brag about.
Dr. Dolan places a strong emphasis on women’s health, including family planning services such as IUD and Nexplanon insertions. As a board-certified family physician, she also provides comprehensive care across the full spectrum of life—from pediatrics to geriatrics—supporting patients and families through every stage of health.

Dr. Dolan is dedicated to providing compassionate, high-quality primary care for patients of all ages in Reno and the surrounding communities. With a special emphasis on women’s health and family planning, she also offers preventive checkups, same-day sick visits, and long-term management of chronic conditions—delivering attentive, personalized care at every stage of life.
Dr. Dolan sees patients on Mondays and Wednesdays from 8:00 AM to 4:20 PM, and on Thursdays from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Please note that appointments are typically booking out 3–4 weeks in advance. She also job-shares with her husband, Dr. John Hess, ensuring patients have consistent access to high-quality, family-centered care.
